Been a long time since a post came up on this page. But I have been away and feel free to guess which city it was (ok it’s not like I didn’t use it as title for this post…not at all).
So feel free insert Kanye/Jay-Z lyrics here.
AraabMuzik is the stage name of Abraham Orellana, who is an American record producer and DJ. And I had the chance to see him on a concert a couple of weeks ago.
AraabMuzik first rose to fame after showcasing his skills of making live beats and instrumentals on a Music Production Center (MPC) drum machine. He uses MPC to produce rapid, rhythmic drum patterns and creates melodies with samples and other sounds. And these sounds are everything! He has worked with several artists including ASAP Rocky and ASAP Mob, Cam’ron, Azealia Banks, Vado, The Diplomats, Hell Rell, Jadakiss, Busta Rhymes, 50 Cent andEminem, among many others.
And since pictures are not the best thing to showcase his talent, you absolutely have to watch this video:
These beats, tho!
The things I am not, but should talk more about: Tinashe.
It’s actually about 3 or 4 weeks ago when I went to the concert in Hamburg/Germany. Having her performance still in mind is just speaking for the impression she left on me. And the concert was def worth it.
In case you don’t know Tinashe yet: she is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, dancer, actress, director, and former model. She began her entertainment career at the age of 3 and so she has been in the game for a minute, which you can see in her very professional performance. But she only got my attention when her debut solo album Aquarius was released last year. She is bringing a specific RnB sound to the music industry which reminds me of the 90’s (and I don’t even know why) and her song Cold Sweat has been on my ITunes list since it got out.
Went to the Sam Smith concert yesterday, but to be honest he wasn’t the one I was impressed by. Like he was singing way too many ballads, which (please don’t get me wrong) were good, but if I go to a concert I just wanna dance my ass off. So the up-tempo songs were slowed down and I was just not feeling it. The arrangement for “La la la” feat Hotel Cabana was my shit! And even though the music might not be for me, Sam’s voice is beautiful!
But who really impressed me was the supporting act Years & Years. I haven’t heard from them before and the second the first beat dropped, me and my friend were like: “Ok, they must be from London. This is very UK.” And we were right! The band members Olly, Michael and Emre are a soulfoul electronic pop band from London. And their music is way too dope to not blog about it.
